Pioneering aerospace company, Griff Aviation, recently conducted a successful test flight of its new cutting-edge UAV model, the Griff G60 Tether, and set a new world record for the heaviest lift using a tethered UAV at the same time. The test showcased the G60’s unprecedented lifting capability – with the UAV effortlessly taking flight carrying an astonishing maximum take-off weight of 150 kg and a payload capacity of 60 kg.
The G60 Tether boasts an impressive 100 meter altitude capability. This provides a unique advantage in scenarios where a bird’s-eye perspective is essential for comprehensive data collection and analysis, such as surveillance, search and rescue missions, communication relay, and environmental monitoring. Another standout feature of the G60 Tether is its resilience in adverse weather conditions. With the ability to operate in winds of up to 15 m/s, the G60 Tether ensures consistent and reliable performance even in challenging environments.
With safety and reliability always a top priority for Griff, the G60 Tether is also equipped with backup batteries. In the event of a power failure, these ensure a controlled and safe landing, minimizing the risk of damage to the UAV and the surrounding environment.
